Upon completion of this comprehensive three-year programme, the Caravan & Motorhome National Apprenticeship will provide your employees with the essential underpinning technical knowledge and understanding needed to function competently as a caravan and motorhome service technician.
Developed by the NCC, Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and Emtec College, the apprentice will study both theory and practical aspects of the following, including core qualifications required for membership of the Approved Workshop Scheme:
- Materials and tools
- Routine maintenance
- Chassis and running gear
- Non-structural internal and external repairs
- Health & Safety
- OEM Supplier training, including AL-KO, Truma, Whale & Thetford
- STGW (formally ACoP) gas competence
- NCC Electrical Test & Inspection and Systems & Circuits
- Functional Skills in maths, English, ICT and Employment Rights & Responsibilities
The apprentice spends 85% of their time with you in the workplace alongside a skilled technician-mentor.
A series of five week-long residential programmes are delivered during each year at Emtec’s fully equipped training facility near Nottingham. The facility is a recognised Centre of Excellence and is also home for apprentices working with Jaguar-Landrover, Aston Martin, Toyota and other leading automotive manufacturers.
In addition, a tutor will carry out quarterly visits to your workplace to discuss the programme with you and to work with their managers and supervisors to assist in providing the best possible working environment to practice the skills and knowledge acquired during the residential training modules.
