The Government previously indicated its intention to apply the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) regime for domestic properties to park homes and holiday caravans/lodges as a means of demonstrating energy efficiency credentials to buyers (consumers). The NCC successfully engaged with Government to demonstrate that this approach was not appropriate for our industry, and instead proposed an industry-led scheme, which was accepted.
Energy Rating Scheme (Residential Park Homes)
Applicable to residential park homes manufactured to BS 3632, this scheme provides a broader assessment, incorporating the thermal performance of the building fabric together with the efficiency of the fixed heating, hot water and lighting systems.
The new system provides a comprehensive and consistent assessment of the overall energy efficiency of holiday caravans and residential park homes using an industry-recognised methodology - known as Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RDSAP).
This new training programme takes you through the Elmhurst software, how to create, fill in and submit an energy assessment, accompanied by a conventions document you can always refer back to and a multiple choice assessment.
Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, we will issue you a certificate of achievement giving you the opportunity to register with Elmhurst Energy as a lead energy assessor, or energy assessor. Once registered you can create energy efficiency rating scheme certificates for holiday caravans and park homes on behalf of your company.
To be eligible for this training you must be an NCC member manufacturer.
