Electrical Refresher Assessment - Test and Inspection and ELV renewals

Completing and passing this online assessment will re-validate your electrical certification.

NCC electrical qualifications require a 5-year renewal procedure.  This is to show that you can demonstrate your underpinning knowledge in every electrical safety procedure.

Please note this online assessment and accompanying online course are knowledge-based only and do not include any practical elements.

How do I take this online assessment?

  • Select the 'book now' option to the right of this page, once we have checked your eligibility and received payment we will email you a link to your personal
MY ACADEMY profile account where you can access the E-Assessment.
  • The online assessment requires an 80% pass mark to provide the re-validation of your electrical certificates.

How long will it take to complete?

  • You have 2 hours to complete this online assessment and should be completed in one session.

Do I have to complete the E-course as well as the online assessment?

  • No, you can take this online assessment independently of the E-Course, but just be mindful that the assessment is based on the content from the E-Course.

  • If you fail the online assessment and you had not bought the E-Course it may be worth investing in this course to ensure you have a better chance of passing the online assessment on subsequent occasions.

Do I need any pre-requisite qualifications?

  • NCC Electrical Refresher online course and online assessment is only suitable for operatives who currently hold one of the following Certificates of Achievement:

    • NCC Electrical Maintenance of Touring Caravans and Motorhomes

Can I take the online course and online assessment without any of these qualifications?

  • No, you are unable to apply for NCC Electrical Refresher Online Course or Assessment without the pre-requisite qualifications.
  • For Caravan Industry operatives, this will be evidence we have on file of your current achievements, or where we request evidence of your electrical certification issued by one of the above Awarding centres.
  • If you have alternative electrical qualifications, not listed above, you will not be eligible to take this assessment.
  • Candidates with the appropriate certificates that have expired or have less than 6 months before expiry, are eligible to apply for this refresher online course or assessment. You may renew up to a year after expiry.

What happens to my old qualification if I do pass the online assessment?

  • Nothing, it remains as it is.

  • The Electrical Refresher E-Assessment extends the validity of your current certificate - it does not replace it.
  • The E-Assessment is knowledge based only and confirms you have retained and now have up-to-date critical information in electrical safety and procedures.

  • This E-Course and E-Assessment has been certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to continuing professional development principles (CPD 10641).

  • However, only successful completion of your E-Assessment will extend your qualification and a new certificate of achievement will be issued to you.
  • A Certificate of Achievement is produced by NCC Training Academy and the learning achievement is uploaded to the candidates MY ACADEMY personal training profile.
  • You can renew your Test & Inspection and ELV up to a year after expiry, after which you must attend the classroom courses again. Please note, although you may renew up to a year after expiry using the refresher, you must not sign off any electrical work once your certificate has expired, you must renew before or as close to expiry as possible. Failing to do so may result in suspension from the Approved Workshop Scheme.

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service.
